TikTok general counsel resigns to challenge new US law
Erich Andersen, the general counsel for TikTok and its parent company ByteDance, announced his resignation on Friday, effective June, Paralel.Az reports citing BBN.
In his new capacity, Andersen will spearhead TikTok's legal efforts to overturn a new law signed by US President Joe Biden. The law mandates ByteDance to divest its ownership of TikTok within 270 days or face a potential ban in the United States.
TikTok has expressed intentions to file a lawsuit challenging the law, although specific details about the timing of this legal action remain undisclosed.
