7 dead in building collapse in east India
At least seven people were killed and nearly a dozen others injured when an under-construction building collapsed in India's eastern state of West Bengal, a local cop confirmed to Xinhua over phone on Monday, Paralel.Az reports.
The incident occurred in the state's capital city of Kolkata, in the Garden Reach area.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
According to media reports, the building collapsed due to poor construction material being used in construction.
Two engineers involved in constructing the ill-fated building were booked for negligence, and a police case was filed against the promoters of the building, added the reports.
