Armenia-Azerbaijan border should not be a confrontation line - Official Baku
"The border between Armenia and Azerbaijan must be a real border, it should not be a confrontation line," said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration during his speech at the panel titled "Peace, Development and Connectivity in South Caucasus" within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2024, Paralel.Az's correspondent assigned to Antalya reports.
Hikmat Hajiyev noted that in this regard, the Azerbaijan side has an open question regarding the activity of the European Union monitoring mission in Armenia.
According to him, programs on militarization should no longer be encouraged.
"Azerbaijan will continue the construction of communication lines in the South Caucasus. This process was started many years ago, not because of Russia-Ukraine war. We have built a real railway component together with Georgia and Türkiye. On the other hand, we have built the energy component covering the South Caucasus, Türkiye, Black Sea and Caspian Sea as well," Hikmat Hajiyev added.
