Turkish inflation inches up in March to 68.5%
Turkish annual consumer price inflation climbed to 68.5% in March, official data showed today, below expectations, amid strong rises in restaurant, education and health sector prices, Paralel.Az reports citing Raidió Teilifís Éireann.
Month-on-month, inflation was 3.16%, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute, down from 4.53% in February.
A Reuters poll showed annual inflation was expected to climb to 69.1% in March, for a monthly rise of 3.5%. The annual rate is seen falling to 43.75% by the end of 2024.
In February, annual consumer price inflation (CPI) was 67.07%.
The domestic producer price index was up 3.29% month-on-month in March for an annual rise of 51.47%, the data showed.
