Ombudsman: International community should press on Armenia for submission of landmine maps to Azerbaijan

 

Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva has commented on the landmine explosion in Ahmadaghali village of Aghdam, Ombudsman Office told Paralel.Az.

According to Ombudsman, landmines, planted by Armenia during about 30 years of occupation, continue seriously jeopardize life and health of civilians and military forces: "The next victim has been a civilian person dealing with agriculture. Thus, on March 3, 2024, a civilian has seriously been injured as a result of landmine explosion in Ahmadaghali village of Aghdam.

More than 340 compatriots have died or injured as a result of landmine explosion from the Second Garabagh War until today.

International community should press on Armenian authority on provision of exact maps of our mined areas to us.
