US will deploy satellite-jamming weapon in 2025
The US will deploy a satellite-jamming weapon in 2025, according to US Space Force, Paralel.Az reports citing Bloomberg.
"A weapon designed to suppress Chinese and Russian satellites in the early stages of a conflict has overcome technical problems and is expected by next year, two years later than planned," the report said.
The system, known as Meadowlands, was supposed to be operational in 2020, but the new model has modern software and enhanced capabilities and should be operational in October 2022, the report said. The Space Force plans to assess the combat readiness of the 32 weapons in January-March 2025, the agency said.
