Ukraine sees potential for Russia to break through defenses by summer — Bloomberg
Kyiv is concerned that Russian forces could break through Ukrainian defenses by summer unless Western countries ramp up ammunition supplies, according to a source, Paralel.Az reports citing Bloomberg.
Ukraine’s assessments of battlefield situation are growing "increasingly bleak" as its forces struggle to counter Russian attacks in the area of the special military operation, while rationing how many shells they can fire, the report said. Officials in Kyiv believe Russian advances could gain significant momentum by the summer, according to the report.
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Aleksander Syrsky said on Thursday that the situation in the Avdeyevka and Zaporizhzhia areas remained difficult for Ukrainian troops. He conceded that the command made some poor decisions and said there was a need to engage reserves.
