As of October 1st this year, the number of salaried employees in the country's economy was 1,768.3 thousand people, with 880.3 thousand working in the public sector and 888.0 thousand in the private sector, State Statistical Committee told Paralel.Az-Economics.

Of the salaried workers, 18.8% were employed in trade; vehicle repair, 18.2% in education, 12.8% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services, 6.9% in construction, 6.4% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% in transportation and warehousing, 3.8% in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 3.3% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.2% in finance and insurance activities, and 14.8% in other sectors of the economy.

The data also reveals that the average monthly nominal salary of salaried employees in the country's economy increased by 8% in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, reaching 993 manats. The highest average monthly nominal salaries were recorded in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific, and technical activities, information and communications, as well as transportation and warehousing sectors.
