Ukrainian, French leaders discuss battlefield situation and Ukraine's defense needs

A telephone conversation has been held between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron, according to X account of Zelenskyy.

"I spoke with Emmanuel Macron and thanked him and the French people for their unwavering support.

A very positive and focused call, which is exactly what is required right now. We talked about the battlefield situation and Ukraine's defense needs, which include drones, artillery and ammunition, electronic warfare, and air defense systems ranging from portable to long-range.

We also discussed the preparation of a bilateral document on security commitments based on the G7 Vilnius Declaration. Such security agreements demonstrate Europe's leadership, motivate Ukrainian society and warriors, and send a strong signal to Russia about Europe's unwavering support for Ukraine.

We also coordinated upcoming joint events," reads the post.
