CIS Interparliamentary Assembly observers to monitor presidential elections in Azerbaijan

 

The observers of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) will monitor presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan, a letter was received from Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan in this regard, to Valentina Matvienko, Federation Council Speaker and Chair of the Council of the CIS InterParliamentary Assembly (IPA CIS), Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Paralel.Az reports.

The letter iincludes an invitation to international observers from Interparliamentary Assembly CIS (CIS IPA) to participate in the monitoring of the extraordinary presidential elections scheduled for February 7, 2024 in Azerbaijan.

“I’m sure that participation of a group of observers from Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) will contribute to the further development and deepening of relations between Azerbaijan and IPA CIS,” – was noted in the letter of the Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament.
