China's stubbornness cost the life of a Turkish captain

Turkish captain Selçuk Elibol died in China.
Selçuk Elibol, 36, worked for a German shipping company. A Liberian-flagged bulk carrier was loaded at a Chinese port.
The Chinese authorities did not allow the captain to leave the ship for planned measurements. Elibol was forced to measure with a rope ladder hanging from the side of the ship, and he lost his balance and fell.
The crew wanted to help the captain, who crashed into the concrete floor about 10 meters away. The Chinese government blocked them. By the time the doctors arrived, it was already too late.
The body of Captain Seljuk Elibol will be delivered to Turkey after the completion of procedures in China.
