A shooting in East Oakland, U.S. state of California, left one man dead and another injured Tuesday night, authorities said, Paralel.Az reports.

The victim, an Oakland resident, died from his injuries at a hospital, authorities said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Another Oakland male resident, who was believed to be involved in the shooting, arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds, officials said.

He was in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.

The police department's homicide unit is investigating the shooting, officials said.
