Cuban news agency publishes article titled "Khojali, a crime against humanity"

 

An article titled "Khojali, a crime against humanity" (Jodyalí, un crimen de lesa humanidad) by Ruslan Rzayev, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Cuba, was published on the official page of one of Cuba's influential media outlets - the Prensa Latina news agency, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cuba told Paralel.Az.

According to the information, the article stated that this year the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide – the massacre that was mercilessly commited on the night of February 25-26, 1992, in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly city, against 613 people, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 elderly by the Armenian Army, will be commemorated this year.

The article also included the statements "Before Khojaly, Azerbaijani people thought that Armenians were a nation that could not raise a hand against the civilian population. We broke this stereotype" made by the former Minister of Defense and former President of Armenia, Serzh Sarkisian, in his interview with British journalist Thomas de Waal.

As well as, in the article, the facts of Khojaly Genocide and other crimes committed by Armenia during the military attack on Azerbaijan, including war crimes and crimes against humanity, serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law was brought to attention of the readers.
