Pyongyang expects more high-level diplomatic engagement with Moscow in 2024, North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said at a meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Paralel.Az reports citing TASS.

"We believe that it’s very important to step up exchanges at various levels, including the exchange of high-level delegations, as well as various political and cultural activities," the top North Korean diplomat noted. According to her, these steps will help strengthen ties between Pyongyang and Moscow.

She also pointed out that at a meeting in September 2023, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to boost ties between the two countries and deepen cooperation in various areas. "This was when Comrade Kim Jong Un invited Comrade Putin to visit our country when possible," the North Korean foreign minister added.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Putin would definitely take advantage of Kim Jong Un’s invitation to visit North Korea. He added that the Russian president’s visit could take place some time soon and its exact date would be further discussed through diplomatic channels.
