Armenian speaker does not rule out possibility of direct dialogue between Yerevan and Baku

Holding direct negotiations between Yerevan and Baku is not excluded, because, naturally, every state that wants to be a mediator in the peace process has its own interests, said speaker of Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan, Paralel.Az reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

“There’s no need to romanticize this issue. Interests either overlap or they don't,” the speaker said.

Alen Simonyan noted that, all the states that want to have influence leverages over Armenia and Azerbaijan are trying to be "good" mediators, but Yerevan and Baku must solve their own issues in order to avoid becoming a bargaining chip in big games: “But, the establishment of treaties by the international community is still an important point.”
