The first meeting of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria was held in Baku, the Azerbaijani Ministry told Paralel.Az.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev led the political consultations on the Azerbaijani side and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Lounes Magramane on the Algerian side.

During the consultations, views were exchanged on the prospects of expanding the existing friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria, the importance of diversifying economic and trade relations and developing inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as intensifying mutual high-level visits was highlighted.

The regional and international political processes were also discussed.
