Russian, Iranian presidents discussed Garabagh

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone talk with Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the initiative of the Iranian side, Paralel.Az’s Moscow correspondent reports citing the press service of Kremlin.

Detailed views were exchanged on the situation around Garabagh and the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Vladimir Putin has informed on the activity of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians, as well as the protection of the rights and security of the Armenian population of Garabagh.

The presidents of Russia and Iran stressed the importance of resolving all issues exclusively by peaceful, political and diplomatic means. Mutual interest was expressed in activating the work of the "3+3" consultative regional platform (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Iran and Türkiye).
