At least six people were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday in a collision between a passenger bus and a car in Barkhan district of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, the rescue service reported, Paralel.Az reports.

According to the reports, the accident took place early morning near the Rakhni area of the district, resulting in casualties.

The accident occurred due to the overspeeding of the bus, said the rescue service, adding that the bus driver was among the injured.

Upon receiving the information, rescue workers reached the site, within a couple of hours since the area had unpaved roads, and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital, according to the rescue service.

Reportedly, the ill-fated bus was going from Balochistan's capital Quetta to Multan city in the south of the eastern Punjab province.
