Some names may be banned in Azerbaijan

Nadir Mammadli, Director General of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS, said that the problem is mainly in marriage departments: “When naming, they should call and ask for the meaning of the name. Parents say how it happened. This will affect the future. Now they don't feel it. The level of some people sitting in the marriage departments does not prevent such cases. This will cause great damage to our gene pool.
Most of the problems are related to Arabic and Persian names. Sometimes representatives of those peoples laugh that we give this name to an object, a bird, and you give a name to people. Sometimes names are given in a foreign language to match the name of another family member. Also, words that have a different meaning are sometimes mispronounced, even if they have a bad meaning. When choosing a name, you need to look at its meaning. Children are given names, the meaning of which is not clear. When children grow up, they are sometimes ashamed to understand this.
