Georgia's Azerbaijan-Armenia peace initiative has yielded definitive results - PM Gharibashvili

"Georgia's Azerbaijan-Armenia peace initiative has yielded definitive results," Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said as he presented his report for 2023, Paralel.Az reports.

He noted that the Georgian Government holds close friendly relations with its partners in the region, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Türkiye.

"We, undoubtly, are interested in the establishment of long-term peace and stability in the region. Georgia makes important contributions to achieving this goal. The Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia were in Georgia some time ago, and we had a unique opportunity to hold a tripartite meeting. I think it was an interesting precedent that we set," the Prime Minister stated.

Gharibashvili reminded that there are intensive visits made between neighbouring countries.

"I have been to Azerbaijan a couple of times, the Azerbaijani President and the Armenian Prime Minister have visited Georgia. Of course, we continue the high level strategic partnership and cooperation with Türkiye as well," Gharibashvili said.
