The death toll in a train collision in eastern India has risen to nine. In addition, about 45 people were injured in the accident, 10 of them in critical condition. It is reported by NDTV with reference to the local government.
About 12 carriages of a passenger train derailed near the city of Minaguri in the east Indian state of West Bengal. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. An investigation is underway.
A rescue operation is underway at the scene. In the cars involved in the accident, there may be other victims.
