Kremlin does not recognize Maia Sandu as Moldova's President
“Maia Sandu is not the president of her country because the majority of the population in Moldova did not vote for her, we are talking about a divided society," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Paralel.Az's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, not allowing thousands of Moldovan citizens living abroad to vote in the presidential elections could not fail to affect the results of the elections: "These elections were neither democratic nor fair."
Kremlin spokesperson noted that Russia did not interfere in the elections in Moldova: "Official Moscow has not heard any condemnation supported by reliable information. The Moldovan opposition is subjected to illegal attacks and arrests—this is a manifestation of the non-democratic course of official Chisinau."
Peskov added that the residents of the Transnistrian region are not inclined to support the current leadership of Moldova.
