Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed on Friday that Moscow will not allow the presence of nuclear weapons in Ukraine "no matter what", Paralel.Az reports citing Russian media.

The Russian President said that any step towards the building of nuclear weapons in Ukraine would be met with an "appropriate reaction."

"Russia is able to trace any movement towards obtaining nuclear weapons by Ukraine, it is "impossible to conceal," Putin added, answering a question from Dmitry Kiselev, director general of Sputnik's parent media group Rossiya Segodnya.
