"Azerbaijan and Greece enjoy historical relations," said Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov at an event in Baku dedicated to Nationa Day of Greece, Paralel.Az reports.

Deputy FM has also touched upon history of diplomatic relations. He has noted that both countries have cooperation in different fields.

"Cooperation in the field of energy between Greece and Azerbaijan makes a basis of bilateral relations. Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of Europe in energy field. There is great potential for expansion of economic cooperation. We also enjoy significant cooperation in humanitarian field. Relations between our countries rely on mutual respect and I am sure that these relations will serve interests of our peoples," added Elnur Mammadov.
