Georgian Dream party's manifesto: normalization of relations with U.S., EU, Russia - Kobakhidze
Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has unveiled the ruling Georgian Dream party's manifesto covering all spheres of national development and listed the restoration of relations with Moscow among foreign policy priorities, Paralel.Az reports citing Interfax.
Since 2012 when the party came to power, the national economy has grown from 12 billion laris ($1=2.74 laris) to 90 billion laris, Kobakhidze said during a detailed presentation of the economic development program.
"Over the next four years we intend to increase our economy to 130 billion laris," Kobakhidze said.
By 2028 the average monthly salary in Georgia will be 3,500 laris, versus today's 2,000 laris, he said. The program includes an annual pension indexation, he said.
On foreign policy, the party's priorities remain the same, and Georgia will strive to establish normal relations with the United States and the European Union, he said.
Kobakhidze said he is sure that after the conflict in Ukraine ends, "the U.S. and the EU will make steps to meet us halfway.
"A pragmatic policy and peaceful conflict settlement with Russia is also one of our main priorities," Kobakhidze said, adding that for all plans to be executed Georgia needed peace and stability.
