Azerbaijani citizens among top five illegal migrants in Russia
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has announced the number of illegal migrants in the country, Paralel.Az's Moscow correspondent reports.
Russian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy said that there are 739,000 illegal migrants in the country: "Currently, there are 6,174,000 foreign nationals in our country. Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China and Turkmenistan are among the top ten in terms of the number of foreign citizens living in Russia. I am listing their names in descending order, but in total, their number is 5.5 million.This number includes all categories of foreigners, including those who are here illegally, regardless of the purpose and duration of their stay in our country."
"If we talk about illegal immigrants, among them there are mainly citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan. In total, their number is about 739 thousand people or about 9%," the Russian deputy minister underlined.
