Armenia helps Russia according to its interests, says Sabit Bagirov
"Armenia increases budget revenues of Russia by aiding it. Statistics show that compared to 2020, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with Russia has increased multiple times," Sabit Baghirov, Head of the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Market Economy told Paralel.Az.
He underlined that despite the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union against Russia, Armenia has special interests in expanding trade relations with Russia:
"This increase would be on the real basis if Armenia has produced some product and there had been a great demand for it in Russia. But the reality is not like that. In compliance with its own interests, Armenia helps Russia so that their military industry can continue to produce some types of weapons. These weapons are used against Ukraine. For this reason, Russia is also interested in the development of bilateral trade with Armenia."
He also said emphasized that although this sight is not heartwarming for the West, there is no reaction.
Recall that Azerbaijan Non-Governmental Organizations have addressed an open letter to the heads of the main institutions responsible for the implementation and control of sanctions against Russia in the United States and the European Union. In the letter, the aforementioned institutions were addressed in the context of "stop allowing Armenia to create conditions for Russia to evade sanctions."
