The Netherlands' colony Bonaire Island will submit draft resolution to UN

"Baku has become an international platform on decolonization issues,” Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) Abbas Abbasov told journalists, Paralel.Az reports.

According to him, in October, the leadership of the island of Bonaire will submit a resolution to the United Nations to add the island to the "G24" project:

“As you are aware, the next event of the Baku Initiative Group will be held on August 22. This event will be dedicated to the Bonaire Island, a colony of the Netherlands. In October of this year, Bonaire will submit a draft resolution to the UN. This project is related to the adding of Bonaire to the "G24" project. The official representatives of Bonaire Island appealed to us to hold a conference in Baku on the issues of this island. We have responded positively to this request. Thus, on August 22, Baku will host a conference dedicated to Bonaire Island. This proves that Baku has become an international platform for decolonization issues."
