A two-day international conference of representatives of peoples living under French colonialism was held in Corsica, Paralel.Az reports.

During the conference organized by the "Nazione" movement, the representatives of the independence movements presented the problems faced by the colonies under the occupation of France.

In the discussions, it was specially underlined that the decolonization process was brought to the center of attention of the world community and international organizations, starting with Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The participants appreciated the support provided by Azerbaijan, including the Baku Initiative Group in the direction of decolonization, and noted with satisfaction that international conferences devoted to decolonization were organized in different countries of the world.

The participants of the event expressed the significance of combining efforts, putting forward joint initiatives, including putting the issue of colonialism more seriously before international organizations.

It was underscored once again that France has massively violated human rights and freedoms in the occupied territories and did not respect people's fundamental rights, and such illegal activities were condemned.

The participants of the event called on the French government to comply with its international obligations.
