President Joe Biden rejected mounting calls from Democrats to end his re-election bid, saying in a rally on Friday he is “staying in the race,” doubling down on his campaign’s assurance the 81 year-old is not too old even after his rocky debate performance last week, Paralel.Az reports citing Forbes.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Wisconsin Friday afternoon, Biden acknowledged increasing concerns about his advanced age in the wake of CNN’s debate last week against former President Donald Trump, a 90-minute affair criticized by Democrats over Biden’s hoarse voice and rambling—and at times incoherent—answers.

In his speech on Friday, Biden said he’s heard Democrats ask “what’s he going to do,” and answering: “I am running and going to win again.”

Biden then asked the crowd if it thinks he’s “too old to beat Donald Trump” or “too old to restore Roe v. Wade,” touting his policies as president, including efforts to forgive student debt, signing the Respect for Marriage Act and bipartisan gun safety legislation.

Biden said he will not let “one 90-minute debate wipe out three-and-a-half years of work,” and vowed to “exile Donald Trump politically.”
