Masoud Pezeshkian leads Iranian presidential election with 42.6% of votes -UPDATED 2
The extraordinary presidential elections in Iran are ongoing. After counted votes so far, Masoud Pezeshkian is still the leader, Paralel.Az reports.
According to the information, after counting 24,535,185 ballots, Masoud Pezeshkian ranks first with 10,415,991 (42.6%) votes. Said Jalili ranks second with 9,473,298 (38.8%) votes, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is third with 3,383,340 (13.8%) votes, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi is fourth with 206,397 (0.8%) votes.
Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian and conservative Said Jalili will compete in the second round since no candidate could secure a majority in the presidential elections in Iran. The second round of elections is scheduled to be held on July 5.

Former Iranian Health Minister Masoud Pezeshkian is leading Iran's extraordinary presidential elections after the votes have been counted so far, Mohsen Eslami, secretary and spokesperson of the Election Headquarters said, Paralel.Az reports.
After the counting of 19,069,713 ballots, Masud Pezeshkian leads again with 8,302,577 votes. Following him, Said Jalili ranked second with 7,189,756 votes, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf ranked third with 2,676,512 votes, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi was fourth with 158,314 votes.
According to the results, the second round of the elections is scheduled for July 5.

According to him, after counting ballots at 28 thousand out of 58 thousand polling stations, Jalili received 4.266 million votes, and former head of the Ministry of Health Masoud Pezeshkiyan - 4.244 million votes. 1.385 million people voted for Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagheer Ghalibaf.
The fourth presidential candidate - the former head of the ministries of internal affairs and justice - conservative Mustafa Pourmohammadi received 80.5 thousand votes.
