Under-Secretary-General of UN: We must protect Caspian Sea
“A number of projects have been implemented in order to solve the problem in the Caspian Sea. But there is much work to be done,” said Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Inger Andersen during a joint briefing he held with President-designate of COP29, Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Paralel.Az reports.
“In this meaning, the main burden falls on the five Caspian littoral countries, which must make joint efforts. I mentioned this also in my discussion with the minister today. We must protect the world's largest lake. Climate change affects the volume of rain and snow. We must definitely continue and speed up our discussions in this direction," - he added.
