3 killed, 5 wounded in armed clash in Türkiye's Istanbul
Three people were killed and five others wounded on Thursday in an armed clash between two groups in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul, Paralel.Az reports.
The Istanbul governor's office said in a press release that the confrontation originated at a cafe in the bustling Uksudar district on the Asian side of the city at around 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT).
A dispute between the two groups escalated into an armed clash, the press release added.
Two of the wounded are in critical condition, the office noted, adding that an investigation into the incident is underway.
The Turkish television news channel reported the number of people involved to be about 40.
Several video footages circulated on the social media platform X showed policemen cordoning off the street to enhance security measures while investigation units conducted their examination.
