UNESCO official: Europe almost has no information about mine problem in Azerbaijan
“People in Malta think that the damage done to Garabagh was during the II World War,” said Chairperson at Maltese National Commission for UNESCO Raymond Bondin during his speech at special session on “Impact of mines and unexploded ordnance on cultural property” held within framework of 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Aghdam city, Paralel.Az reports.
“People in Europe almost have no information about the landmine problem in here. According to them, the mine problem is only in Arab and African countries. Even some representatives were reluctant to visit this area. This is because of the danger of landmines. I think this is a blow to the image of the country," he added.
