New Caledonian committee chair: This so-called referendum usurps rights of Kanak people

"We have expressed our rightful protest in order to reconsider the issue of the referendum," Chair of the New Caledonian Congress Committee on Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Sustainable Development, Energy, Transport and Communications Naisseline Omayra said at a conference dedicated to the topic of "History, Contemporary Challenges and Expected Future" in Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Paralel.Az reports.

"We want the referendum to be reconsidered. For this purpose, we have already sent our complaint accordingly. This so-called referendum usurps the rights of the Kanak people. That is why we are fighting against it. We express our gratitude to Azerbaijan for being with us in our struggle for independence," she underscored.
