Kremlin comments on NATO Secretary General's visit to the South Caucasus

The Kremlin commented on NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s visit to South Caucasus, Paralel.Az reports.

The Press Secretary of Kremlin Dmitry Peskov said to journalists that “NATO's general intention to strengthen its presence in the Caucasus is well known to them, and as they say, it is visible to the naked eye.”

According to him, “there’s such opinion that NATO's attempts to somehow expand its influence and presence are unlikely to bring stability to the Caucasus.”

The Press Secretary of Russian Leader also noted that such such contacts are “sovereign rights” of the South Caucasus states.

He also emphasized that they are following this process carefully.

Note that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited Azerbaijan on March 17, Georgia on March 18, and he paid a visit to Armenia today.
