A Russian military transport plane has caught on fire and crashed in the Ivanovo region northeast of Moscow, media reported Tuesday, Paralel.Az reports citing The Moscow Times.

Footage circulating on social media showed the IL-76 aircraft descending toward the ground with one of its engines on fire. Other footage showed a column of black smoke rising from the crash site.

According to the information on the 112 telegram channel, there were 12 people on the plane - 7 crew members and 5 passengers and all off them killed.
