Ukrainian drone strikes oil base in Belgorod

 

In a recent development, the Gubkinskaya oil base in the Belgorod region was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), resulting in an explosion, Paralel.Az reports citing Balalaika.

This attack marks the second attempt by Ukraine to strike this particular target, with the first attempt taking place in February. Rocket danger has been declared in the Gubkinsky and Starooskolsky districts. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported the emergency in the Gubkinsky urban district, mentioning a fire at an infrastructure facility without specifying the exact object or the cause. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.

Reports indicate damage to the oil base following the attack. According to the Telegram channel Shot, the UAF targeted the OAO «Belgorodneftprodukt» oil base, resulting in a fire that engulfed three fuel tanks. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) reported damage to one tank. The incident occurred at 8:50 am Moscow time, with a firefighting train deployed to extinguish the blaze.

The targeted object is located over 90 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. On February 15, a Ukrainian drone of aircraft type attempted to attack the Gubkinskaya oil base in the Belgorod region, but no damage or casualties were reported. The drone was shot down, with its debris falling on the facility’s premises. In a separate incident on the night of Tuesday, March 5, air defense systems intercepted and downed three Ukrainian drones of aircraft type in the Belgorod region. No injuries or damages were reported in this incident.
