The US Congress has decided to approve the agreement with Turkey on the sale of 40 new F-16 fighters and the modernization of existing F-16 fighters, the US embassy in Ankara wrote on X, Paralel.Az reports.

"This week's approval by Congress for Turkey to buy 40 new and 79 upgraded F-16 aircraft is a big step forward. Turkey's F-16 fleet is very important for NATO forces in ensuring future interoperability between the allies," the embassy reported, referring to the statement of the head of the diplomatic mission, Jeffrey Flake.
