Armenian eco-activists protesting exploitation of Amuldagh field is admirable - Coalition member

“We consider the protest of non-governmental organizations and eco-activists in Armenia on the exploitation of the Amuldagh field posing a serious threat to biodiversity and water resources, admirable,” said Amin Mammadov, the member of Environmental Protection First coalition and Deputy Chairman of “Specialists in the field of water use” Public Union told Paralel.Az.

He said that they found out about it from the Armenian media, and for this reason, as NGOs, a statement expressing support for them was issued.

“Actually, since the time Armenia wanting to build a factory on the Arazdeyen side of the border with Nakhchivan in June of last year, we had issued number of statements. Unfortunately, there were no reactions by Armenia’s non-governmental organizations for this. But now, the existence of this reaction demonstrates that, NGO’s within Armenia, as well, have viewed our statements. After checking out the facts which we presented, they found that there are indeed activities that harm human health.”
