A Russian Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane was shot down, said Andrey Kartapolov, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of Russia, Paralel.Az reports.

According to him, the Il-76 military transport plane which was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war, was shot down by 3 Patriot or Iris-T missiles.

He also added that today, another Il-76 plane that was boarded by 80 Ukrainian prisoners of war flew in the same direction too, however, after the mentioned incident, that plane was returned.

The speaker of Russia's State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russia is preparing an appeal to the USA and Germany regarding the known incident.
