Annual inflation in Russia totaled 7.44% from January 1 to 9, the Ministry of Economic Development says in its price review, Paralel.Az reports citing TASS.

"The price growth in the consumer market slowed down during the first week of 2024 (in the period from January 1 to 9, 2024) to 0.26%; inflation totaled 7.44% year on year," the ministry said.

"During the reporting week, inflation stood at 0.72% in the food segment on account of a change in fruits and vegetables prices. Inflation was 0.2% for foods, except fruits and vegetables, while meat products and sugar prices declined. In the nonfood sector, inflation made up to 0.11% during the reporting week. Deflation is observed in the services sector due to the price drop for domestic airfare," the ministry added.
