Citizens of foreign countries who entered into a contract during a special operation to serve in the Russian army can obtain Russian citizenship, Paralel.Az reports.

This will require a list of certain documents and fingerprint registration. The corresponding decree is posted on the official website of legal acts.

“Foreign citizens who, during the period of the SVO, entered into a contract for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or military formations, or who are undergoing military service during the SVO citizenship of the Russian Federation,” says the document. In addition, their families and parents can obtain citizenship.

The list of documents for obtaining citizenship includes a certificate of absence of infectious diseases that may pose a danger to others, and a test for psychotropic substances and narcotics. An exception in this case will be applicants for citizenship who have a refugee certificate, temporary residence permit or residence permit.

In addition, to apply for citizenship you will need a certificate of freedom from HIV infection. The exclusion category includes temporary residence permits, refugee status and residence permits. Among other things, an applicant for citizenship is required to undergo fingerprint registration.
