Azerbaijani Parliament ratifies Additional Protocol to Council of Europe Convention on Prevention of Terrorism

 

Today, the draft law “On approving “the Additional Protocol to the “Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism” was discussed in today’s meeting of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Paralel.Az reports.

According to the document, Azerbaijan designates the State Security Service as a contact point operating 24-hour, 7-day-a-week for exchanging information on persons traveling abroad for terrorism purposes.

The provisions of this Additional Protocol will not be applied by Azerbaijan related to Armenia until the outcomes are completely eliminated and relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan are normalized. The draft law was put into a vote and approved in first reading after the discussions.
