“The strategic currency reserves in Azerbaijan have reached USD 68.2 billion increasing by 16.6% in 11 months of 2023”, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan stated in a statement on its main monetary policy directions, Paralel.Az-Economics reports.

Thus in the 11 months of the year, a positive balance of USD 15.7 billion was created in the foreign trade balance. The current transactions surplus for 9 months of 2023 was USD 6.7 billion or a 12.5 % level of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In 2023 the foreign trade balance, which is the main component of the balance of payments was in surplus. The strategic currency reserves have increased in the conditions of surplus balance of payments.
