Leader of one of the most active hacker groups has been arrested

The National Police of Alicante arrested the leader of the financial equipment of one of the most important groups of hackers in the world, ‘Kelvin Security’, with more than 300 high-level attacks behind him against strategic sectors in more than 90 countries in the last three years, Paralel.Az reports citing World Nation News.

The group’s main targets, as indicated by the National Police, are critical infrastructure and government institutions. Besides Spain, its targets include countries such as the United States, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Chile and Japan.

The agents confirmed that the group exploits vulnerabilities in web pages, software and information storage services of institutions and entities belonging to strategic sectors around the world to carry out large-scale extraction of sensitive information from internal data, clients, workers and users. Later, they sold it through criminal forums on the ‘dark web’, a part of the Internet that allows users to hide their identity and location from other people and law enforcement agents.
