OSCE ministerial meeting kicks off in Skopje

 

The meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) kicked off in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, Paralel.Az's Moscow correspondent reports.

The event is held in the Sports Centre Boris Trajkovski in Skopje and includes three plenary sessions.

Apart from his visits to the capital of North Macedonia, Belarus and Türkiye, it is Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's first visit to Europe since the outbreak of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine. His attendance in the meeting of the Ministerial Council of OSCE has caused the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to boycott the event.

Note that the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating States is held on 30 November - 1 December. The participants are expected to discuss security issues on the continent against the background of the ongoing Ukrainian conflict, as well as the matter of the next Chairman of the organization.
