On November 28, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan hosted a presentation devoted to emergency volunteers, dedicated to the “Year of Heydar Aliyev", Paralel.Az reports citing the Ministry.

The event was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov employees of the ministry, the responsible employee of the Department of Youth Policy and Sports of the Presidential Administration Faig Mammadov, the acting executive director of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Gadir Khalilov and others.

In his speech at the event, Minister K. Heydarov noted that as a result of the effective work done towards the creation and development of volunteer organizations in our country, the “Emergency Volunteers” program has already been formed. At the joint initiative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Union of Voluntary Organizations of Azerbaijan, the “Emergency Volunteers” program was launched on July 24, 2023.

During the interview stage, started by the Ministry of Emergency Situations on September 12, the personal qualities of the candidates, their knowledge and skills in various fields, physical data, social activity, worldview and interests in the field of emergency situations were assessed; from more than 500 registered young people, specialists selected and involved in theoretical and practical training in various areas for about 50 candidates.

Volunteers who have successfully completed training and received certificates will be divided into groups in the specified areas and begin working as emergency volunteers.

Minister K. Heydarov congratulated the volunteers and expressed confidence that they will actively participate in the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
