Biden speaks to Netanyahu, regional leaders about hostage deal

 

U.S. President Biden held separate calls on Wednesday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar to discuss the deal to secure the release of hostages taken by Hamas, the White House said, Paralel.Az reports citing The Wall Street Jornal.

Biden also spoke to the three leaders about the latest developments in the region.

The White House said it planned to provide more extensive descriptions of the calls later in the day. Israel’s cabinet approved the deal early Wednesday following extensive deliberations. Qatar and Egypt have played key roles in the negotiations. Biden held the calls while staying in Nantucket, Mass., for the Thanksgiving holiday.
