Russian MFA commented on Armenia’s decision not to participate in the CSTO summit

Although Armenia's decision not to participate in the Summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to be held in Minsk is regrettable, the doors are open, Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a briefing, Paralel.Az reports.

"We do not believe that this decision meets the long-term interests of the Armenian people and contributes to strengthening the security and stability of the friendly country.

At the same time, we understand that our Armenian colleagues do not intend to obstruct the work of the organization's statutory bodies or prevent the approval of already agreed documents", Zakharova noted.

She emphasized that they leave open doors for Yerevan and allows Armenia to join the activities of CSTO in the future.
